2003 Grants Report

The Vodafone-US Foundation continues to strengthen its presence in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, with a special emphasis on programs in the East Bay. The past few years have presented unique financial challenges for many non-profit organizations; it is our hope that our support has made a positive impact in our communities.

2003 was an especially remarkable year for our foundation. We partnered with three leading engineering schools in the United States, launching a five-year $12 million Fellowship Initiative to advance wireless engineering technology. We strongly believe that projects like this will help create more wireless engineering programs and enhance the advancement of wireless technology.

During the 2003 calendar year the foundation awarded grants totaling $1,161,400. This report lists all grants made by the foundation in the amounts of $5,000 or more. Please keep in mind that the following grants may not be indicative of future funding decisions.
