Funding preferences
Preference is given to organizations that exemplify our vision of "helping people help themselves" by:
- involving people within their communities as participants and decision-makers
- engaging youth as participants and decision-makers in their programs
- effectively utilizing volunteers in all levels of the organization
Program limitations
Vodafone-US Foundation makes grants only to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that are not classified as private foundations.
The foundation does not support:
- individuals
- political organizations
- religious organizations for sectarian purposes
- fraternal, veterans, or labor groups
- schools or school districts

We generally do not make grants to support:
- health related programs
- memberships
- administrative services
- emergency appeals
- large national projects
In addition, the foundation will not support any organization that practices unlawful discrimination in its leadership, staffing, or provision of services.
You should also be aware that the foundation does not make grants to support fundraising events or goodwill advertising (including sports benefits), nor are we able to donate any products or services.
We provide very limited support for:
- medical clinics and hospitals
- environmental programs
- educational institutions
